President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday congratulated passers of the 2022 Physician Licensure Examination (PLE), praising them for their determination to be qualified practitioners of medicine.

“Congratulations to our country’s newly-licensed physicians! The nation shares in your pride of your years of hard work,” Marcos said on his official Twitter account.

A total of 3,826 out of 5,958 examinees passed the PLE last October, according to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

The PRC said the Angeles University Foundation in Angeles City, Pampanga had the highest passing rate with all 51 examinees passing the examination.

The top 10 schools with at least an 85 percent passing rate were the following:

  1. Angeles University Foundation (51 examinees, 100 percent passing rate)
  2. Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (108 examinees, 97.22 percent passing rate)
  3. St. Luke’s –Medical Center College of Medicine – William H. Quasha Memorial (94 examinees, 97.22 percent passing rate)
  4. Cebu Institute of Medicine (138 examinees, 95.65 percent passing rate)
  5. University of the Philippines – Manila (161 examinees, 95.65 percent passing rate)
  6. Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health (162 examinees, 97.22 percent passing rate)
  7. University of Cebu College of Medicine Foundation Inc. (66 examinees, 93.94 percent passing rate)
  8. University of Santo Tomas (460 examinees, 90.43 percent passing rate)
  9. West Visayas State University – La Paz (111 examinees, 89.19 percent passing rate)
  10. University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (94 examinees, 97.22 percent passing rate)

Meanwhile, University of the Philippines (UP) Manila College of Medicine graduate Justin Adriel Zent Gautier Togonon led the list of passers with a rating of 89 percent, followed by another UP Manila graduate, Francesca Marie Aby Lagrosa, who got 88.75 percent.

The following are the top 10 passers of the PLE with their respective schools and ratings:

  1. Justin Adriel Zent Gautier Togonon, UP Manila – 89.00 percent
  2. Francesca Marie Aby Lagrosa, UP Manila – 88.75 percent
  3. Karla Joyce Saavedra Badong – Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila – 88.00 percent
  4. Kim Zapatos Sia, University of Santo Tomas (UST) – 87.67 percent
  5. Gamaliel Pulpulaan Galigao – University of the East (UE) Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center and Mark Arlo Hernandez Segundo – West Visayas State University – La Paz with 87.58 percent each
  6. Christian Joseph Barrion Cruzado – Far Eastern University (FEU) Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation and Sonny Cabahug Redula, Cebu Institute of Medicine – 87.50 percent each
  7. Neill Steven Cainglet Cachuela, UST and Trisha Marie Ramos Galapon, UP Manila – 87.42 percent
  8. Anna Patricia Anonuevo Bartolome, Our Lady of Fatima University – Valenzuela; Christopher Tabora Pilarta, UP Manila; Randy Franz Gubantes Selim, St. Luke’s Medical Center College of Medicine-William H. Quasha Memorial; and Keith Alexius Kim Wangkay, UE Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center – 87.25 percent each
  9. Christian Jerell Salvacion Cosme, UST – 87.17 percent
  10. David Marco Abaya Bildan, UE Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center; Mark Johnuel Matabilas Duavis, University of Cebu College of Medicine Foundation Inc.; Christine Bernadette Orfano Lo, UP Manila; and Hannah Leian Herrera Tan, Davao Medical School Foundation with 87.08 percent each. (PNA)
